Below is information about the camp
The Ten Oaks Project is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization that engages and connects children and youth from LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, queer) identities, families and communities through summer camp programs. Our camps offer participants the opportunity to connect with the great outdoors through activities like swimming, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, archery and out-tripping, and we also incorporate social justice into everything we do.
Our campers find it really powerful to be in a space where they can be completely open and honest about their identity and/or family structure, form a sense of community, and be celebrated for who they are. Our programs are open to children and youth aged 8-24, and although there’s a program fee to participate, it’s offered on a sliding scale so no one is turned away because of economic barriers.
