With the first of the baby boom generation now reaching 65, there has been increasing discussion among parliamentarians about seniors care and a strategy involving the federal, provincial and territorial governments. Currently 16% of Canadians are over age 65, and that number is expected to grow to almost a quarter of the population by 2036.

With the negotiation of a new Health Accord underway between the federal, provincial and territorial governments, the timing could not be better to come up with solutions for how to respond to the health care needs of seniors in our community.

These discussions will be of interest to more than seniors, however. If you have aging parents or loved ones to care for in the future, you will also find the event well worthwhile.
